Once you have made the decision to move forward with purchasing new software, you may be feeling at a loss as to whether buying an off-the-shelf product or creating a custom application that is exactly tailored to your company’s needs is the best approach. In an ideal world, a custom solution might seem perfect, but cost and timeframe are also factors that must be balanced with functionality.

Entrance’s tailored versions of the Microsoft Solution Framework (MSF) help us manage both Agile and Waterfall software development projects. We find that being able to execute projects using either approach allows Entrance to be flexible and better able to meet the needs of each client.
The MSF defines a sequence of five phases that enables Entrance, in collaboration with our clients, to progressively define and refine business and software requirements. These phases are Envision, Plan, Build, Stabilize, and Deploy. Each phase defines a set of deliverables that support the progression of moving from business requirements to functional software. The phases occur in both Waterfall and Agile Development, but the process looks a little different in each case.

Every solution requires some degree of maintenance. In addition to the phases of software development mentioned above, there is a sixth phase that lasts through the lifetime of most solutions we deliver. Entrance works with every clients’ staff to transition as much maintenance to an internal party as desired.
But if you prefer that we handle some maintenance and support, such as system administration, bug fixes, or minor enhancements. In these cases we create a Maintenance Agreement that specifies a fixed set of hours per month that Entrance will allocate as a priority to support the optimal functionality of your application. The Maintenance Agreement is flexible and can be changed at any time to accommodate a change in client needs.
Our success and yours are inextricably linked. Find out what happens when a project is complete…
We maintain communication and visibility throughout the software development lifecycle. We give full detail insights in our billing system, so that you can see exactly where our time is spent. Status meetings and status reports also keep clients up to date on an ongoing basis, and keep the lines of communication open and flowing.
We know that satisfaction with software is more than just technical delivery. Beyond delivery of business solutions, we offer Quality Assurance, Testing, Technical Documentation, Maintenance Agreements and User Surveying. These services add an extra level of security to our solutions.
