SharePoint is a multi-purpose tool designed to cater to the web requirements of most organizations. It also provides a Microsoft-Office interface, and is heavily integrated with the Office suite of tools. The SharePoint platform integrates directly into Internet Information Services (IIS) – enabling bulk management, scaling, and provisioning of servers, as is often required by large organizations or cloud hosting providers.
