Your Responsibilities
The Business Intelligence Consultant will work with the Team Lead to solve problems and create value for clients by defining, designing and implementing the Microsoft Business Intelligence tool set and BI Platform infrastructure components for the Business Intelligence Development Suite (BIDS).
- Defines client objectives by gathering and documenting user requirements and analyzing system features and functionality.
- Determines required Microsoft business intelligence components to meet user requirements and technical standards.
- Responsible for process design (including scenario design, flow mapping) of standard Microsoft BI Platform infrastructure to meet typical performance requirements.
- Designs the BI architecture foundation to support requirements for fail over, load balancing, web, firewall, high availability, infrastructure security and capacity planning.
- Creates models, analysis services cubes and reporting services reports as needed.
- Creates testing, training and defines support procedures and supporting implementations.
- Mentors junior developers in business intelligence perspective and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant technology architecture consulting or industry experience.
- At least 2 years of experience designing, developing and deploying Microsoft Business Intelligence Development Suite (BIDS).
- Expertise in selection, design and development of multiple Analysis Server frontend tools.
- Expertise in SharePoint integration with Business Intelligence tools and integration with other Web applications.
- Expertise on production configuration and installation.
- Expertise on migration issues.
- Expertise in integrating Business Intelligence tools at an application level.
- Technical Skills:
- Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Cube Development and Deployment within a Production Environment, Unified Dimensional Model (UDM), PerformancePoint Server 2007/2010
- Expertise in Report Builder, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, ProClarity and Performance Point Server Infrastructure design and deployment to support medium & large user bases.
- Certification in the Microsoft Business Intelligence competency is a plus.
