Job Description
The Director of Consulting is responsible for managing all operational aspects of the consulting business including identifying revenue goals and strategic resources to deliver software consulting services to clients. Generally, this position is responsible for:
Planning, developing and implementing strategies that deliver on our brand promise
Building and maintaining a sustainably profitable, growing consulting business
Providing internal thought leadership and developing Team Lead Consultants into future Directors
Fostering external business relationships in the community for Industry (future clients), Talent (future team members), and Partnerships (Microsoft, other vendors)
This position supervises and mentors the Team Lead Consultants and reports to the President.

Build a profitable and sustainable consulting business
Partner with Marketing, Sales, and the Executive Team to plan, develop, and implement new programs and ideas to promote and increase Consulting services. This includes supporting conversion of the largest leads through the sales process
Create, implement, and continuously improve methods and procedures for developing and monitoring the active consulting project load such as forecasts, profitability metrics, utilization reports, progress reports, KPIs and Dashboards
Identify, define, develop and implement techniques to improve engagement productivity, increase efficiency, mitigate risk, resolve issues and achieve positive project outcomes for our clients
Manage relationships with clients, maintaining frequent and direct contact with client staff and senior level executives
Internal leadership
Participate as a member of Senior Management Team in formulating and administering company policies and developing budgets, and both long and short range goals and objectives
Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization
Take responsibility for the personal and professional development of Team Lead Consultants and manage their performance according to Entrance best practices
Share personal experience and knowledge with the wider Entrance organization
Perform other duties as assigned by the President
Maintain external business relationships
Actively drive representation for Entrance in the community as a thought leader

Represent Entrance in our partnership with our major vendor relationships, developing and driving business referrals and partnering opportunities through those channels
Professional Experience
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering discipline mandatory.
Master's degree (M. B. A.) or equivalent preferred.
10+ years of related consulting experience, preferably in technology services.
Must have extensive knowledge of software development and consulting disciplines, including the Microsoft technology platform: (.Net, SQL Server, SharePoint and related technologies), consulting strategies, project management, and governance (reporting and record keeping).
Deep understanding of business consulting and the business of relevant clients/partners, including:
Business acumen (client business drivers)
Sales and Marketing
Financial analysis (e.g., ROI & TCO)
Problem solving
Ability to respond promptly and effectively to inquiries or complaints from customers, partners or members of the staff.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and recommend solutions for complex software, data and business process-related problems.
Outstanding written and verbal presentation and communication skills. Ability to write speeches and articles for publications that conform to firm style and format.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Database and Contact Management systems; and Internet research experience.
